Hello, everybody and welcome to the "Plushenko and Yagudin community", the community for people who love both Evgeni and Alexei. My name is Kirsten, your friendly neighbourhood mod, I'm sixteen and from Scotland. I'll now tell you a little about myself and why I decided to make this community! I started figure skating when I was about 7. I was never very good (I can do a spin, a 3-jump/waltz jump, I used to be able to do a salchow and I've just re-taught myself how to do a toe-loop) but I've always enjoyed it. About a year ago I stopped skating for a while because of other commitments but the Olympics at Torino this year really inspired me and now I'm back on the ice and i think I'm skating better than before.
Anyways, the point is that while we were wathcing the men's short programme my twin sister turned to me and said, "I hope that blonde haired Russian dude wins this year." I was like, "What Russian dude?" And then i remembered, Evgeni Plushenko. My sister and i watched Evgeni's short programme transfixed and since then I've been obsessed with Evgeni, watching every programme I can get my hands on!!
It was through my love of watching Plushenko skate that I learned about Alexei Yagudin. To start with, all I knew about him was that he was also a great skater who was coached by Mishin for a while and then left, causing him and Plushenko to become "rivals" However, after visiting websites and watching his programmes, I am now just as obsessed with Alexei as I am with Evgeni!
So welcome to the community, a place where you can obsess over and admire the talent of both Evgeni Plushenko and Alexei Yagudin!
